About Meera

Meera grew up in the remote hills of Jumla, a rugged district in western Nepal, where life was simple but often challenging. Raised in a lower middle-class Sherpa family, she learned resilience and perseverance early, watching her father work tirelessly as an organic potato farmer to provide for their family.

In 2009, determined to build a better future, Meera moved to Kathmandu to pursue higher education. Balancing her studies and living expenses was not easy, so she taught herself to crochet bracelets, turning her creativity into a small but vital source of income.

She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, but her passion for handmade crafts stayed with her. Over the years, Meera became a master crocheter, and today she generously shares her skills by teaching other women in the community, helping them create opportunities for themselves just as she once did.

Now, Meera plays a central role in the co-op, managing customer service and supporting the day-to-day operations. Her journey from a small farming village to leading and empowering others is a testament to her spirit, compassion, and unwavering dedication to community and craft.
